Deloitte Ride Across Britain

Cisco is proud to be the technology partner of Deloitte Ride Across Britain. Cisco will be entering a team of six riders consisting of three solo riders and a three-person relay team, completing all nine stages. This is in addition to a team of 90 riders split into teams of 10, who will be lead by our executive riders for the nine stages to raise funds for Paralympics GB. Cisco is providing wireless Internet access to crew members throughout the event as part of our commitment as the technology partner.




Cisco Health Presence Arrives in the Canary Islands

As part of a partnership between Cisco and the Cabildo of La Palma strategy, Cisco Health Presence allows patients at the General Hospital on La Palma and the University Hospital of the Canary Islands located in Tenerife, remote medical assistance without having to travel between the two islands. Patients benefit from faster access to physicians and virtual consultations, saving both time and money for both parties, and helps to improve the quality of life of the Island’s inhabitants.




A Municipal Showcase for Cisco’s Connected Mobile Experiences

The city of Nice and Cisco, working with Think Global, recently showcased the first Internet of Everything proof-of-concept (PoC) for a smart city. The project, called “Connected Boulevard,” builds on Connected Mobile Experiences to create innovative connected experiences, by playing host to “guest” devices such as mobile phones and tablets used in the streets, that get connected onto a Cisco wireless mesh network. International city dignitaries and a local press delegation were treated to a walkabout tour at Boulevard Victor Hugo in the center of Nice by the Mayor and the City CEO, where they could experience the power of Connected Mobile Experiences for themselves.




Swiss Hotel Helps Guests Get More Out of Their Stay

The Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich has recently installed the Cisco Connected Hotel and Hospitality solution with integrated IT services, building management and security. The new system provides the hotel with major differentiation by offering a much higher degree of guest personalization, as well as guest access to IPTV, a flexible and secure approach to bring-your-own-device and video conference facilities via Cisco TelePresence. Patrick Stäheli, Director of Engineering at the Dolder Grand said, “Video is very important to our plans. For example, old-style remote controls are being replaced with smart tablets to manage all entertainment, voice, and video services.”

Royal Saudi Air Force Consolidates IT Infrastructure with
New Cisco Network

Cisco Services assisted the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) to deliver a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that would allow any-site-to-any-site connectivity for any service, through a highly secure borderless network design. The Cisco solution has allowed the RSAF to realize optimum value from its network investment in a way that protects against technology obsolescence and responds to planned and unforeseen future IT requirements. The RSAF can now deliver, in minutes, services that would have previously been difficult or nearly impossible to provision.




Ferguson Group Builds a Safer Workplace

The Ferguson Group, based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, has invested in a Cisco Security System to help protect valuable equipment at ports across its operational bases globally. Graham Cowperthwaite, Director of Operations at Ferguson Group commented, “Only Cisco could provide us with a total combination of IP video cameras, door readers, firewalls, and routers, all available globally with the highest levels of vendor support. We were already a Cisco house in terms of our network infrastructure, and the interoperability of these solutions fit in perfectly with our goals for standardization.”




Bayer 04 Leverkeusen Get Interactive with Fans

Bayer 04 Leverkeusen announced that they will work with Deutsche Telekom and Cisco to install Cisco Connected Sports solutions – StadiumVision, Connected Stadium Wi-Fi and StadiumVision Mobile, to make BayArena the most technologically advanced football stadium in Germany. In BayArena, video and mobility offerings will be core to delivering one of the most connected and interactive fan experiences in international football, and all of sports. Wolfgang Holzhaeuser, Bayer 04’s managing director, stated, “The project heralds a new dimension in communication between the club and its fans – one that will boost fan loyalty and offer more information and entertainment. We’re blazing a trail for the Bundesliga.”





Cisco Supports the World Championships of
Vocational Education and Training

WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 is the biggest international competition of its kind, attracting more than 1000 competitors from 54 countries registered to participate in the event. Apart from the competitors, the event attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to find out more about exciting industries and career possibilities. For young people, it offers a unique opportunity to test their skills, as well as seek advice on their choice of job and plan their career. The World Skills event is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the Saxon State Ministry of Economy.
